Portmore's 30+ Fashion Show and Expo 2026 Highlights Style, Empowerment, and Future Vision

KINGSTON, Jamaica — On April 25, 2026, the 30+ Fashion Show and Expo transformed Club ALIV in Naggo Head, Portmore into a hub of fashion, empowerment, and inspiration. The much-anticipated event offered a captivating mix of high fashion, motivational addresses, and live entertainment, drawing an enthusiastic crowd eager to witness creativity and connect with industry professionals.

Stephanie Elliott-Gunning, the event’s conceptualiser, expressed her delight at the overwhelming support and the event’s evolving identity. "This is my third staging. The first two were also held in Portmore, but I believe we’ve now truly found our home," she said, referring to the venue, Club ALIV.

Elliott-Gunning shared that Portmore was deliberately chosen for this event, driven by her belief in the municipality's potential to become the "Miami of the Caribbean." She emphasized the importance of fashion within the town’s growing cultural and economic landscape. "What is a city without fashion? While I am exhilarated by this year’s success, my team and I are now positioning for something even bigger — Portmore Fashion Week — and we have already begun discussions with designers from across the Caribbean," she added.

The 2026 show showcased an impressive roster of designers, including Bebie Powell Designs, Yanique Designs, Kool Klothes, Vashmar’s, and Tweedle Teews. Highlights included Bebie Powell teasing her upcoming summer bikini collection, while Tweedle Teews captured the audience’s attention with meticulously handcrafted bikini designs that quickly became crowd favourites.

Motivational speaker Patrice “Big and Boasty” Pinkney delivered a compelling presentation titled "Becoming the Modern, Mature Woman," which resonated deeply with attendees. The event was further enlivened by engaging musical performances from Delano McFarlane and reggae artist Lady Jo, making the night a rich blend of fashion and entertainment.

The impact of the event was felt not only among the audience but also among participating designers and models. An attendee named Jody praised the event, saying, "I’m happy I came. I’m leaving with a better understanding of maturity, a deeper appreciation for fashion and I’ll be spreading the word about this awesome fashion show."

Nadine Pennicooke, designer of Rocking Kool Klothes from Montego Bay, reflected on her first experience at the expo. "I was nervous at first, as this was my first fashion show, but I’m good now. 30+ was a hit. The exposure has been tremendous. I’ll be back and look forward to working again with these amazing designers and models."

Similarly, Tashalee Richards Cooper of Vashmar’s Designs in Old Harbour, St Catherine, praised the professionalism of the models, which she said made her job easier. "It was awesome. The models were friendly and professional. I thank Mrs Elliott-Gunning for the opportunity and will definitely return," she affirmed.

The 2026 showcase also demonstrated the event’s ongoing evolution by featuring experienced models, including current and former titleholders and contestants from Mrs Universe, Miss Universe, and Miss Cosmos, adding prestige and depth to the runway presentations.

As its influence and renown continue to grow, the 30+ Fashion Show and Expo is solidifying its status as a signature event for the Portmore community. Elliott-Gunning revealed plans for future partnerships, "We have secured the commitment of JN Small Business to work alongside Compass Communication and our designers, as well as FESCO, two corporate businesses who are committed to the support of all, including female entrepreneurs, as we move forward. We eagerly anticipate what’s ahead."

Overall, the 30+ Fashion Show and Expo 2026 was a landmark occasion that celebrated style, empowerment, and vision while fostering connections that promise to elevate Caribbean fashion in the years to come.
